ready or not...

... In just one week, I will be touching Spanish soil in Sevilla.  I have been looking forward to studying abroad since high school.  I am beyond excited to finally have this experience!! I have my bags packed, mostly. This next week are going to be crazy trying to get everything finalized and organized.

During my time in Sevilla, I would like to:

*become fluent in Spanish. Even though I have heard that it is easy to continue speaking English with other students studying abroad, I truly don't want to speak English from the time I land in Madrid next week until I come back to the United States (unless I am talking to friends and family of course). My whole reason for studying abroad is to be immersed in the language, so why would I not take full advantage of my surroundings to learn and improve. With that being said, all of my other blog posts will be written in Spanish (thanks to Ryan Aves for giving me the idea). However, lucky for you I have a translate button on the right side of my blog!

*travel. So far my list is as follows: Madrid Barcelona Granada Cordoba San Sebastian Portugal Morocco

*be uncomfortable. I know this sounds strange, but in order to learn more about myself, I have to go outside my comfort zone. Step 1 is already complete; I am going to a country I have never been to before, and the official language isn't English. I want to try and do things that I would never normally do. For example, I plan on eating everything that has been made for me. Maybe, I might even try hiking ALL the way to the edge - photo documentation will be needed, or else I am sure my family won't believe me.

*become immersed in the culture. Siestas. Eat. Drink. Dance. Relax. Enjoy.

That is all for now. Next time I will post, I will be in Spain!! I cannot wait!

Mucho amor
